Barkas & Addie Update
This event is a labor of love, and we work tirelessly all year round to make it happen. The nature of this event - a conference in a foreign country at an all-inclusive resort has some unique challenges. One of them requires booking presenters far in advance. This means that things can happen. Life things - the kind that make otherwise solid plans become impossible. As we have learned in the past, presenters are not immune from life events, and we have just learned that Barkas and Addie will no longer be able to attend.
We do hope to have them at a future BeachBind event, and they want to make that happen. In the meantime Barkas has graciously offered to provide two free private lessons to anyone registered for BeachBind as of now. Subject to his general availability, you can schedule with him at conferences this year that you both attend, or in Vancouver if you wish to travel to him. We can't thank him enough for this generosity. To schedule with him, please contact him directly on FetLife or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We are looking at options to replace them, and we have some interest from some great people, but considering the short time between now and the event, that may not happen. If not, some of the other presenters have other great workshops they may choose to add. That said, our schedule was packed, so even without them, we have an abundant and comprehensive schedule - much more than you will be able to do in one week!
Below is the statement from Barkas. Please PM us with any questions.
Public Statement from Barkas:
Dear Beachbind participants,
Due to private life complications, we unfortunately had to cancel our participation of this year’s Beachbind event. We would have loved to meet with all of you great people and we feel very sorry for that. We know it isn’t the same thing, but if we were one of the reasons you bought your 2017 Beachbind ticket, we would like to offer you a 2-hour private tuition slot. Just show us your ticket at the next event we meet, or if you come to Vancouver.
Again, we apologize and we regret that we cannot attend. We would have loved to participate in this great event.
